A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on March 28, 2025, also impacting Thailand, Bangladesh, Laos, and China.
The disaster has caused severe destruction to local infrastructure in Myanmar. Countless people have been left without a home and critical facilities, such as hospitals, have been damaged. With many roads and bridges impassable, it is difficult for affected communities to access essential resources.
At the time of writing, Save the Children estimates that 10 million people in Myanmar have been affected. The full scale of devastation is still unclear, but local resources are under a huge strain. Now, more than ever, the country needs all the help it can get to heal and rebuild.
Our hearts are with the Burmese community during this difficult time. To help those in need, Ria is enabling zero-fee transfers to Myanmar through April 30th*. All of our channels are available for you to reach your loved ones, wherever you are.
We know that it’s difficult to be far from family in their time of greatest need, but we are here to ensure your support reaches them quickly and safely no matter the distance.
Reach your loved ones in Myanmar at any of our locations, online or through the Ria app.
